BURGERKILL

Burgerkill is an Indonesian heavy metal band, originally from Bandung, capital city of West Java. The band is named after the fast food restaurant Burger King as a prank.

ROCKET ROCKERS

The formation of Rocket Rockers began with a group of youth from the mosque around their housing complex. His initial name was Immortal.President. However, after the release of the Word from Immortal.President. Enter Ucay as vocalist. Ucay proposed Immortal President to become Rocket Rockers.

EFEK RUMAH KACA

Efek Rumah Kaca is an Indonesian indie rock band, formed in 2001. The band consists of Cholil Mahmud, Adrian Yunan Faisal, Airil “Poppie” Nur Abadiansyah dan Akbar Bagus Sudibyo.

FOR REVENGE

for Revenge is an emo band formed in Bandung, Indonesia in 2006. This group consists of vocalist Boniex Noer, guitarist Arief Ismail, bassist Izha Muhammad, and drummer Archims Pribadi. They released their debut album Fireworks in 2010. Their second studio album, Second Chance was released in 2013 under Off The Records. In 2020, after the return of Boniex Noer to the music group, the quartet released four singles including “Derana”, “Serana”, “Perayaan Patah Hati” and “Jentaka”, followed by “Jakarta Hari Ini” in 2021. At the end of 2021 , for Revenge released the mini album Get Closer with for Revenge.

BILDFOLD

A music group that was founded in 2010, combines hardcore, pop punk and rock music in a common thread called Billfold. During the seven years this band was founded, they have become the prima donna of today’s local music scene, or Bandung in particular.

ALONE AT LAST

Alone at last is an emo band from Bandung which was formed around 2002, which currently consists of Yas (vocals), Balum (guitar), Ubey (bass) and Athink (drums). They have had 3 albums and several singles that have been released.

STAND HERE ALONE

Stand Here Alone is fronted by Ocan on guitar and vocals, Mbenk on bass and vocals and Chio as drums. This band was originally formed to enliven the celebration of independence or what is commonly called seventeen, in the bassist’s home area, namely Mbenk, which is in Pajajaran, Bandung.

RAS MUHAMMAD X CATCHY KARMA

Muhamad Egar known by his stage name Ras Muhammad is an Indonesian reggae singer. He took his stage name while a student in Brooklyn, United States.

VIERRATALE

Vierratale (formerly named Vierra) is a pop rock band from Jakarta, Indonesia which was formed on November 3, 2008. The band consists of 3 members namely Kevin Aprilio (piano/keyboard), Widy Soediro Nichlany (vocals), and Raka Cyril Damar ( guitar). Vierra’s music genre can be categorized as powerpop and pop rock. Until now they have released 3 albums namely My First Love (2009), Love, Love and Love (2011) and Evolve (2016).

MUKARAKAT

MukaRakat is a rap music group from Indonesia which has six members, namely Liberto Guerra Maria da Costa a.k.a GERAMAR, Philipus Ronaldus Irwan Ngadut a.k.a LIPOOZ, Yohanes Ade Indra a.k.a DFLOW, Frederikus Kristian Sabon Tada Lewar a.k.a DIRTY RAZKAL, Yuvenalis Prialsi Sariyono Putra a.k.a A ‘CHI or 4PRIBEAT and Oktavianus Pattingan a.k.a V.O.P were formed in 2017. Throughout his career, MukaRakat released seventeen non-album singles.

JKT48

JKT48 is an idol group from Indonesia and the first AKB48 sister group outside Japan. Adopting the AKB48 concept, “idol you can meet”, this group holds regular performances at the JKT48 Theater located on 4th Floor fX Sudirman, Central Jakarta, DKI Jakarta. As of April 3 2023, JKT48 has 43 members.[3] Their first studio album, Heavy Rotation was released on February 16, 2013 through Hits Records, a division of Media Nusantara Citra (MNC) subsidiary, Star Media Nusantara.

HINDIA

Baskara founded the rock band Feast in 2012 with four other colleagues. At the end of 2018, he appeared as a solo singer under the name Indies by releasing the song “No One Will Find Me” which was part of the Bertamu compilation album. In welcoming Christmas 2018, he released a mini album titled No Snow Here with Petra Sihombing, Krautmilk, Enrico Octaviano and Rubina. He released a single entitled “Evaluation” on March 22, 2019.

PAINFULL BY KISSES

Starting from the Post-Hardcore Genre, the band which started their musical career on December 1, 2005 has released 1 EP Album (“Your Friend Can Be Your Enemy” – 2006) and 3 LP Albums (“The Curse Of…” – 2008, “Better Brighter” – 2011 & “Vice Versa” – 2016) which are distributed independently in Bali and Outside Bali Island. Has been the Opening Act of YOUR DEMISE (UK), IN LEAGUE (AUS), MISS MAY I (USA) & MOVEMENTS (USA). Collaborating to hold a Mini Tour with bands like THIRTEEN, DIVIDE & SUNRISE outside Bali Island. Became one of the filling bands for the “CHEERS FROM ROCKET ROCKERS” compilation.

NAVICULA

Navicula is a music group from Bali. This band consists of Gede Robi Supriyanto (Robi) on vocals and guitar, Dadang Pranoto (Dankie) on guitar, Supriatmoko (Palel Atmoko) on drums and Krishnanda Adipurba (Khrisna) on bass. This band is famous for its grunge music color which is influenced by Balinese culture. Navicula also uses a variety of music such as folk rock, psychedelic rock, funk, blues and punk. Because of their frequent involvement in the world of social and environmental activism they are nicknamed “the Green Grunge Gentlemen”.

RAJAWALI INGKAR JANJI

Rajawali Ingkar Janji or commonly known as RIJ is an indie punk rock band from Bali. The band was formed at the end of 2008. Now Rajawali Ingkar Janji consists of four members namely Ajik/Gus Tolet, Yudis, Ari alias Hempas and Mang Keng alias Kengkeng BMX. All of these personnel have different backgrounds so this is what makes them have a lot of stories & experiences, especially their passion for being able to create a community in Bali, this is of course very cool. The Rajawali Ingkar Janji Band also used to frequently change personnel, until now there are 5 permanent members.

.FEAST

.Feast came into formation when the members were still studying Social and Political Science at the University of Indonesia. In 2014, they released their debut album titled “Camkan” which spots Religious Freedom in Indonesia.

After Camkan, they had planned to make another album titled “Convictions”, however, they went inactive for a year instead. They later returned with a single, “Wives of ゴジラ/Gojira (We Belong Dead)” featuring Janitra Satriani, and in July 2017, they released “Sectumsempra”, inspired by Harry Potter, featuring Yudhis from Rachun Band.

On 18 September 2017, they released an EP titled Multiverses featuring many collaborators including the rapper Ramengvrl, Elephant Kind’s vocalist Bam Mastro, Mardial, Oscar Lolang, Haikal Azizi, and many more.

SCARED OF BUMS

Scared of Bums is a melodic punk band from Bali. The band consisting of Eka (Vocal/Guitar), Arx (Bass, Back Vocal), Eka (Lead Guitar) and Nova (Drums) was formed in 2003. The band had linked its name in the prestigious talent search festival by one of the cigarette products next door neighbor in mid 2007.

REBELLION ROSE

Founded in 2008, to this day Rebellion Rose has gone through 12 years of music with a series of dynamics that have occurred within this band. One thing is also in line with their commitment to continue to sing songs that come from the heart, so that this results in themes of togetherness, minority voices, and other interesting things to be explored further.

THE DARE

The name The Dare may be familiar to fans of indie music. This band from Lombok has hooked many young music lovers. In fact, if you look at the personnel, some of them are already married and even have children.

SOULJAH

Souljah is a music group in Indonesia with the Jamaican Music and Reggae genres. The band performed their songs with Jamaican music from Jamaican Music. Souljah was formed in 1998 with the initial band name Arigato.

JANGAR

Formed in Denpasar, Bali, in 2015, Jangar is reinforced by Gusten Keniten (vocals), Dewa Adi (guitar), Raibio (bass), and Pasek Darmawaysya (drums). The vanguard of the current generation of Balinese loud music mixes rock with stoner, blues, heavy metal and arrack into their music. In 2016 they have released a mini album with the same name as the band through Trill/Cult Records from Bali in cassette and digital formats. In 2019, Jangar is preparing to launch their full album via Berita Angkasa.

JONI AGUNG & DOUBLE T

Joni Agung & Double T inggih punika are one after another, a musical group so Balinese, if they fall for the ipun genre, sané metiosan sareng liyané, taler manados kapertama sané medué album reggaé mabasa Bali. The band puniki madué nem personnel, inggih punika: Joni Agung dados vocalist, Mayun dados keyboardist, miwah D’Alit dados guitarist, Tilem dados bassist, Rodi dados drummer, taler Sandi dados Saxophonist miwah Violinist.

WHITE SWAN

White Swan is a band from Denpasar which was formed on October 7 2016. The band consists of Sugeng Wisnusutha (Vocals), Reza Mahaputra (Guitar), Satriya Dana (Bass), and Maha Wahyu (Drums).[1] The band’s name White Swan comes from a ketchup bottle in a diner that he saw after the band’s first practice, which had a picture of a white swan on it. But behind that, the White Swan in Balinese philosophy means clean, good, wise in making decisions, and also everywhere. That’s what made White Swan chosen to be the identity of this rock band.

GOLDVOICE

Gold Voice is a no-holds-barred hip-hop outfit that hails from Bali and has been making noise on the Indonesian scene. Their recent video My Homies – which hones in on the corruption and injustices of government politics – has gained more than 100,000 views. SOULFOOD

Soulfood is a Soul/R&B trio from the island of the Gods fronted by Bam George (guitar), Lyta Lautner (vocals), and Palel Atmoko (drums). Soulfood has been formed since 2016 and started its career from cafe to cafe, bar to bar, weeding to weddings, and other events. After a long time, Soulfood has finally succeeded in releasing its first EP in 2020. It’s been a long time since the formation of this trio until the birth of the EP. This was not without reason, because Soulfood admitted that at first they only played music to make money. However, it turns out that the longer Soulfood plays other people’s songs, they start to feel bored so that they finally feel challenged to create original works that listeners can enjoy.

LEEYONK SINATRA

Leeyonk Sinatra is a band from Bali with an innovative pop genre. Starting from 2006, Bolo (guitar/vocals) started Leeyonk Sinatra’s solo career. Also in 2006, Leeyonk Sinatra’s first single, ‘Tari Sing Pedidi’, was launched as a turning point for Leeyonk Sintara, who was once a broken band. Until finally in 2013, Bolo found friends he could invite to work again in a band, namely Yudi Dharmawan, who at that time already had a band called ‘Wangsa’ to join as vocalist for Leeyonk Sinatra and Jiggo who was a leader in an ethnic music group. Bali, whose name is ‘Palawara’, is also the owner of a recording called ‘Palawara’.

SUICIDAL SINATRA

For some of us, we are not really familiar with the Suicidal Sinatra band. However, this band from Bali Island has been formed since 2004. Their genre is Rockabilly. In 2004, they released their first mini-album entitled Valentin Ungu which contained 8 song titles and was only limited to 700 copies. Remarkably the album finished in just a few months.

BARONG BOYS

Barong Boys are a trio originating from the island of Bali. With the characteristic hashtag #TABRAXXX #PARTYTANPASPASI #FROMTRIBUNETOBANJAR barong boys are here to color Balinese music.

ASTERA

The pop quartet from Bali, Astera, has just released their first album, Worthy. With 13 mainstay tracks, guaranteed to be your favorite indie song recommendation this year, friends! Previously, Astera had released four great singles such as Venita, Tell Me Now, Flowers, and Baby in Red. The band fronted by Rio Bagastyan (vocals), Dode Debby (guitar), Raden Bagus (guitar), and Chandra Raditya (drums) creatively package the issue of identity and identity crisis into an interesting collection of songs.

BAGUS WIRATA

Bagus Wirata is a singer from Bali who is currently on the rise thanks to his trademark song using the ukulele. In fact, lately many Balinese songs have imitated this characteristic of the ukulele from Bagus Wirata. Apart from that, Bagus Wirata is also famous for his hoa hoe which always accompanies him in every appearance. The name Bagus Wirata himself appeared in 2021 through a YouTube account. Initially Bagus Wirata covered several songs by famous singers by featuring ukulele music such as Mang Senior, Yan Srikandi, to Panji Kuning.

ST.LOCO

Saint Loco is a music group from Indonesia which was formed on September 20, 2002. This music group originally consisted of 6 members, namely Berry, Joe, Webster, Gilbert, Tius, and Iwan. However, following Joe’s resignation in March 2018, his position was replaced by Anindya Pramadhyana.

BINTANG BAND

Bintang band is a band consisting of 5 members namely Jun on vocals, Ogik on bass, Arik PW on guitar and Icux on drums. Bintang band was formed around the early 2000’s. Lyrics and musical character that are different from other bands make this band increasingly loved. Bintang Band has also spawned several full albums and one of them is The Best of Bintang.

NANOE BIROE

Nanoe Biroe is a Balinese reggae, rock, pop and punk band from Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. This music group was founded by I Made Murdita (Born Denpasar, November 17, 1982), a male former vocalist of the Biroe Band. On May 11, 2010, Nanoe Biroe broke the MURI record for singing non-stop for 80 hours at Puputan Badung Square, Denpasar, Bali. Previously, the record for the longest singing was made by a singer in Bandung, West Java, with a time of 71 hours in 2005. Nanoe closed the record by singing the song Indonesia Pusaka.

FEEL KOPLO

Feel Koplo is a duo music group from Indonesia which was formed in 2018 consisting of Tendi Ahmad and Maulfi Ikhsan. Throughout their career they have released one mini album.
The beginning of the formation of Feel Koplo started with Tendi and Ikhsan’s love for remixing several songs into dangdut. The song titled You from Ten 2 Five was their first remix. In 2018 they officially formed after their first gig.

LOLOT

Lolot is an alternative rock band originating from Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. The hallmark of this band is using Balinese lyrics in each song. Its members are Made Bawa (vocalist/guitar), Lanang (bass), Lesmana (lead guitar), and Hendra (drums). The name “Lolot” was taken from the vocalist’s nickname, De Bawa (according to his neighbors in the village of Panjer, Denpasar), from the reverse slank of the word “stupid”, because the vocalist used to be stubborn and liked to drink alcohol.

NDX A.K.A

NDX A.K.A is an Indonesian music group originating from Yogyakarta. The band was founded in 2011. Yonanda Frisna Damara and Fajar Ari. Before becoming famous through the dozens of songs they had recorded, they were both construction workers who developed natural talent, without ever having received a music education. The songs that popularized them included Kimcil Kepolen, Bojoku Digondol Bojone, Terminal Giwangan, and Sayang which were also popularized by Via Vallen.

DJ MAHES

DJ Mahesa Buleleng, or better known as DJ Mahes is a DJ from Bali, Buleleng Regency. DJ Mahes is famous for his phenomenal works. Taking the background of the social life of the community by using the Balinese regional language complete with its distinctive Buleleng accent, DJ Mahes’ works are easily recognized among the public, especially in the Balinese area.

THE DJIHARD

Who doesn’t know this veteran street punk band? For the Balinese punk scene in the mid-90s and early 2000s, this band was no stranger to hearing it. Starting the band in 1997, the band was formed with the first name, Djihad by 5 young men, namely Roy, Oche, Dekha, Solir & Konok who liked punk bands like The Exploited, Total Chaos and The Casualties. In early 2000 the band underwent a transformation, changing its name to The Djihard. A few years later, Solir and Konok resigned and were replaced by Houten (guitar) and The Djihard were the 4th. Until now, The Djihard has released 3 recording albums “Invisible Justice” in 1999, “Tikam Negri” 2006, “Macan Asia” 2013, and several compilations they have participated in.

XXX

XXX (pronounced triple-x) is a trio of rap bands that use Balinese in their songs. The band consists of Rahtut (vocals), Rah Two (vocals), Rah Mink (guitar) and additional players Angga (bass), Alit (drums) and Sila (keyboard & guitar). This group was formed on October 10, 2003. Video clips of this group are often shown in music programs on Bali TV.
